Are you ready for a FUN SUMMER CHALLENGE?!
Come and try one of our new ADVENTURE TOTES! Each tote contains games, activities, books and an extra idea sheet if you are really having fun! Once you conquer an adventure, bring back the tote and your Adventure Challenge Map (see sample map) to be initialed by a librarian. Completing an adventure means reading two of the included books and trying at least one of the activities.
If you complete at least four adventures over the summer, you’ll win some great prizes like a $15 Toadstool gift certificate, a treat from the Sullivan Store bakery and more! You will also be automatically entered into the NH State Library Prize Drawing too! (Look below to see the amazing prize list!)
Adventures can be completed as a family with all children receiving their own individual map, Nelson Library prizes, and NH State Prize Drawing Entry form! (Totes preschool - 12 years)

JUNE 24TH AT 4PM SUMMER READING KICK OFF Join Al Stoops when he brings adventure to the library! Enjoy snacks and fun, plus you’ll be able to get an Adventure Challenge Map and start on your SUMMER ADVENTURE CHALLENGE JOURNEY!
JULY 17TH AT 4PM MONADNOCK MUSIC FAMILY CONCERT presents Gwyneth Walker's retelling of Little Red Riding Hood alongside a setting of the African folk tale Tunji and the Giant by David Mullikin.
TEENS! ADULTS! (12+ and up)
Visit the library starting in June to pick up the State Library sponsored Adventure Challenge! Participate in four of the fun summer experiences outlined (some include planting a native plant, kayaking, visiting a NH State Park or cultural event) and borrow a Nelson Library resource book to help.
Teens completing the challenge will win some great prizes like a $15 Toadstool gift certificate, a treat from the Sullivan Store bakery and more! PLUS you’ll automatically be entered into the state library drawing for prizes listed below.
Adults completing the challenge will be entered into the NH State Library prize drawing. All adventures can be completed as a family with all children receiving their own individual map and prizes.
